I suppose I shouldn’t post about it, lest I just add fuel to the fire that just doesn’t seem to want to go out, but I suppose it can be a social commentary.
Guess who just sent me an IM? That’s right; Phil. For those of you who aren’t “in the know,” (lucky bastards) Phil was pretty much Bob’s right-hand man. Of course, this means that whatever Bob thinks, Phil thought, too. It was shocking how little free will that group actually had. Bob would think what Kendall thought, Phil would think what Bob thought. If you thought something different, you were spit upon. But, I digress, lest I let this damn thing turn into a LiveJournal. Phil IMed me, asking if I was still a shithead. Boy, what an insult. Then he called me “assface.” My eyes, they’re tearing up right now.
Work has been the usual lately. Which means nothing has been going on. Aside from the usual idiot customers, there has been nothing that stood out. w00t.
By the by… I’ll be in Madison all weekend (until Monday afternoon) visiting my wonderful girlfriend, Elizabeth. I wish she had a site so I could link her name, but I guess I’ll have to restrain that urge.
Google Joins the XMPP Federation:
I flipped the switch to connect the Google Talk Service to the public XMPP network this morning. Google Talk users can now chat with users on other XMPP services and vice versa.
What does this mean? Well, now GTalk users can talk to ordinary Jabber users, and vice-versa. John and I have run into some issues with it, namely a problem authorizing contacts, but it’s a step in the right direction. We did a short FlossCast on it, so expect that soon.
